New Year 2024

Updated: Jan 18

I’m writing in my new office today. See photos on Facebook and Instagram.

Had a wonderful start to the New Year and created six achievable goals. They are:-

  1. 6hour meditation once a week.

  2. Meditation 3 x day; early morning, lunch & evening.

  3. Read at least two pages of Paramahansa Yogananda’s lessons per day.

  4. Be kind, compassionate and loving to my immediate family and spread that love to all.

  5. Finish the Munroe story blog.

  6. Blog at least three times a week.

Exercise consists of walking 2 km per day & 5 minutes of the plank exercise. Exercise keeps you young and fit. Ever since I turned 60, I have fallen off one or both of my horses every year. My chiropractor got me onto the plank exercise which has helped a lot. I went decades without falling off a horse, and in the last three years have fallen off every year. 😢 Definitely linked to lack of fitness and age. Love my horses to bits and still want to keep riding for as long as possible.

The last fall I had was November 2023 when I was riding out with my friend Vanessa. My horse got stung by a March fly. 😩

I was sitting relaxed as we were walking along the sandy path when all of a sudden Jack went straight into bronco mode! As I was falling I was trying to pull myself up and instead pulled myself underneath resulting in a mish mash of six legs. Unfortunately my knee got a bashing. I lay on the dirt and couldn’t move for at least a minute or so. Jack is trained to stop and stand when I’m down on the ground. A very handy tool in training! Vanessa held both horses while I struggled to stand up. In true Aussie fashion I said,

“let’s see if I can get back on with a leg up”.

Vanessa went into action mode to try and lift me up, but it was no good. My knee was frozen. Glenn had to come and get me while Vanessa took the two horses back.

While I was waiting, sitting on the ground, the March fly, the “culprit”  landed on my riding boot and started to clean itself! Never underestimate the small and invisible, they can be very powerful!

Glenn insisted I go to ED at Northam Hospital. My right arm had a deep gash in it and looked much worse than what it was. I couldn’t walk without crutches. As I entered ED, there was a young girl about 22 that stood up and gave me her  seat. I asked what she was in for, she showed me her finger. It had a very small cut on it. Clearly, the problem wasn’t the physica but the mental state of mind. When the nurse behind the counter assessed her, they put a band around her wrist that indicated non-urgent. (I got the you beaut urgent one).  I overheard her saying that she suffers from depression and anxiety. I can tell you from experience, that is way worse than a broken leg!

Hope your New Year has started well. 😍
