Horseriding is Therapeutic

My love of horses started the day I was born. I was not born into a horsey family and this was no deterrent to my enthusiasm!

In 2021 I founded the Let’s Go Riding group on FaceBook and serve the horsey people local and not so local to the Northam area.

Today we rode from the Lion’s Park in Clackline to Baker's ’s Hill and back covering a distance of 16km.  An flat gravelly easy ride for most.  We enjoyed lots of trotting, some cantering and leisurely walks.  We met up with a new member who joined us for coffee minus her horse who has to learn to float.  After explaining what a Vienna coffee was I returned with a jam doughnut for Danielle and an eclair for me.  Anna kept her slimness by just having coffee.  A tip to all riders, eat lightly!  The energy and movement while trotting and cantering has triggered my iWatch to say,”it appears you’re doing strenuous exercise, do you want to record?”  I have since turned the health bit off.

If you’ve never been to the Baker’s Hill pie shop, I urge you to pay a visit.  You won’t be disappointed, and if we turn up, I may employ you to take a group photo!

Photo taken today by a travelling cyclist.  Thanks Alex!
